More photographers, more worlds and more recurring visual ideas turn a collection into a record of how a community was learning to look.

Repetition changes an archive. Photograph the same virtual world once and you preserve a place. Return repeatedly and something else becomes visible: preference.

Certain photographers search for architecture. Others search for faces, weather, movement or silence. By 2024, patterns of looking had begun to emerge. The archive was developing handwriting.
